Trek Overview

Namik Glacier is situated in the Pithoragarh district of Uttarakhand state in India. The glacier is situated on the Kumaon Himalayas at an altitude of 3,600 m (11,800 ft). This glacier is the source of the Ramganga River.The glacier is surrounded by the following peaks: Nanda Devi 7,848 metres (25,748 ft), Nanda Kot 6,861 metres (22,510 ft), and Trishuli 7,120 metres (23,360 ft). The glacier falls on ancient Indo-Tibet trade route. It is 23 km (14 mi) trekking from Liti and situated at the villages of Gogina and Namik. There are a number of waterfalls and sulphur springs originating around this glacier. The glacier can be reached by trekking from gogina on the sama liti Road near. It is 63 kilometres (39 mi) from Bageshwar. Jeeps can be hired from Bageshwar or Kapkot up to Gogina.Namik’ means a place where saline water springs are present.

Itinerary

 Day 1 : Dehradun to Sankri (via Mussoorie) (166 km, 5-6 Hours by Road)

  • 166 Km Drive to Sankri through the Mussoorie.
  • Visit the Kempty Falls, 15 km from Mussoorie.
  • Continue the drive towards Purola, which is located at a height of 1,524 mtr. Situated in the thick of rich forest area and wildlife, especially the endangered snow leopard, it is also known as the ‘Gate to Har Ki Dun’.
  • Overnight stay at rest house/tent.

Day 2 : Trek from Sankri to Taluka (1,900 mtr)

  • Sankari has awesome and spectacular views of the forest land and the valley
  • Start the Trek to Taluka along with the Rupin River.
  • Reach Taluka, a small village that sits at 1,900 mtr, boasting of intoxicating wild roses, lush deodars and rich flora.
  • Overnight stay will be in rest house/tents, there is also provision of sacks

Day 3 : Trek from Taluka to Osla Village (2,560 mtr)

  • The Path from Taluka ti Osla is great, with interesting downturns and climbs, finally straightening out on the left side of the valley, merging into some beautiful forest area. Enjoy poetic chestnut, willow and walnut trees, all the way up to Gangar Village.
  • Proceed towards the Seema campsite that lies opposite to Osla Village
  • Overnight stay in rest house/tents.

Day 4 : Trek from Osla to Har Ki Dun (3,566 mtr)

  • From Seema, proceed to the valley, crossing a hanging bridge over Rupin River. Later, ascend through pictorial fields, lush coniferous plants and beautiful meadows till you reach Kalkatti Dhar
  • A ridge that will give a vantage point to view Har ki Dun, you have to cross picturesque streams, meadows and serene valleys to reach the basecamp in Har Ki Dun. While advancing towards the campsite, one can expect an initial gradual climb with steep stretches in between
  • overnight stay in the camp beside the stream.

Day 5 : Exploring Har Ki Dun

  • This day is all about exploring the immaculate beauty of Har Ki Dun. After breakfast, get set to hike around the campsite and explore the reasons of the valley being called as 'Valley of the Gods'.
  • After visiting the beautiful Morinda Lake, which is about 3km from Har ki Dun, head to Jaundhar glacier, located about 10 km away and then return to camp
  • Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 6 : Trek from Har Ki Dun to Osla Village

  • 3 to 4 hours trek back to Osla, the village where Duryodhana from the Mahabharatha was revered and worshipped.
  • Camping and overnight stay at Osla.

Day 7 : Trek from Osla to Taluka

  • Start trekking back the Taluka settlement. Enjoy the stunning views and the untouched beauty of the nature on your course and arrive in Taluka
  • Overnight stay will be in a local hotel.

Day 8 :Trek from Taluka to Sankri

  • Trekking back to Sankri. Easy and pleasant, visit the same trail we took earlier to reach Sankri
  • Check-in into a rest house/tent and retire for the day.

Day 9 : Drive from Sankri to Dehradun (215 Km, 7-8 Hours by Road)

  • The astounding trekking in Har Ki Dun comes to and end at day 9.
  • After Breakfast drive back to Dehradun
  • Explore Dehradun at your own.

Trek Policies

Confirmation Policy

Once the amount is paid in full, a confirmation mail will be sent. For Partial payment the complete amount needs to be sent before trek start.

For Payments done using Bank Transfer, The Trekker needs to share the transaction details over email,

Cancellation policy

  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trek — full refund.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 20 days to the start of the trek — 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 20 days and 10 days to the start of the trek — 25 % refund.
  • Cancellation less than 10 days to the start of the trek :- No refund.

Refund Policy

In case of an unforeseen event UTT reserves the right to cancel the same. UTT will do its best to inform the trekkers about this. However refund due to cancellation or trek change or date change is followed under following rules

  • No Refund if trekker agrees on date change of trek change but does not turns up
  • Refund may be adjusted to some other trek in future on some urgent and need basis.

Trek Change Policy

In case of an unforseen event UTT reserves the right to change the trek to other trek. Such decesions will be pre infromed to the trekkers and will olny take into into effect if trekkers want the same.

  • Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.
  • The trekker needs to pay the diference of the amount if the trek cost is more then the previeous trek cose.
  • In case of the new trek cost is less then the provious trek cost, the difference will be adjusted in ter of cashback/discount/vouchers.

Date Change Policy

  • Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.
  • In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by UTT.
  • UTT holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice.
