Trek Overview

Valley of Flowers National Park is an Indian national park, located in West Himalaya, in the state of Uttarakhand and is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, musk deer, brown bear, red fox, and blue sheep. Birds found in the park include Himalayan monal pheasant and other high altitude birds. At 3352 to 3658 meters above sea level, the gentle landscape of the Valley of Flowers National Park complements the rugged mountain wilderness of Nanda Devi National Park to the east. Together, they encompass a unique transition zone between the mountain ranges of the Zanskar and Great Himalaya. The park stretches over an expanse of 87.50 km2 and it is about 8 km long and 2 km wide. Both parks are encompassed in theย Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserveย (223,674 ha) which is further surrounded by a buffer zone (5,148.57 km2). Itinerary

Day 1 โ€” Haridwarโ€‹/Rishikesh - GovindGhat/Joshimath (6,151 ft) (Drive/287 km) (8 - 9 Hours)

  • Drive to Joshimath via Devprayag. On the way visit Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet. The confluence makes it The Holy Ganges.
  • Arrival at Joshimath by evening, Joshimath: The religious centre, established by Adi Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath.
  • Near by temples one can visit are Nav Durga and Narsingh

Day 2 โ€” Joshimath - Govindghat/Ghangaria (10,000 ft) (26 km Drive/9 Km Trek) (3 to 4 hours)

  • After an early breakfast drive to Govindghat. Which is the starting point of the trek
  • From Govindghat there is a gradual ascent along a well maintained pilgrim trail to Ghangaria.
  • Upon arrival at Ghangaria check into Camp. Explore The surroundings in the evening.

Day 3 โ€” Ghangaria (8,050 ft) โ€“ Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara & Lake (11,320 ft ) (10 Km Trek 6 to 7 hours)

  • Rise early to take a 7 kms trek to Hemkund Sahib. Hemkund Sahib is the most venerated Sikh Shrines, and considered to be the Worldโ€™s Highest Gurudwara at an altitude of 4,329 m.
  • 6 km Hemkund Trek (Each Way), heads to Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara & Lake
  • Start trekking back to Ghangria, Campsite and an overnight stay. ad Ghangria.

Day 4 โ€” Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers trek and back to Ghangaria (11,320 to 12,820 Ft.) ( 5 Km Trek 4-5 hours)

  • Trek from Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers
  • Mesmeric Valley of Flowers starts. Delight in the sight of green carpets being adorned by a myriad of exotic flowers and flora. Arriving at the valley, gaze through its enchanting beauty and romance the various colours of the nature
  • Spend amazing moments discovering the bright and appealing flowers in the valley
  • Back to Ghangria for overnight stay.

Day 5 โ€” Trek from Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft). Drive to Joshimath (6,150 ft) (5 hours, 12 km trek + 20 km drive)

  • Trek from Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft).
  • Drive to Joshimath (6,150 ft); 5 hours, 12 km trek + 20 km drive

Day 6 โ€” Depart from GovindGhat/Joshimath to Haridwar

  • Depart from GovindGhat/Joshimath. You will reach Haridwar between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm.

All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.

Permits/ Forest fees. UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.

Experienced Trek Leader & Team

Qualified trek leaders having basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist on trek. Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Trek Policies

Confirmation Policy

Once the amount is paid in full, a confirmation mail will be sent. For Partial payment the complete amount needs to be sent before trek start.

For Payments done using Bank Transfer, The Trekker needs to share the transaction details over email,

Cancellation policy

  • Cancellations prior to 30 days from the start of the trek โ€” full refund.
  • Cancellation between 30 days and 20 days to the start of the trek โ€” 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 20 days and 10 days to the start of the trek โ€” 25 % refund.
  • Cancellation less than 10 days to the start of the trek :- No refund.

Refund Policy

In case of an unforeseen event UTT reserves the right to cancel the same. UTT will do its best to inform the trekkers about this. However refund due to cancellation or trek change or date change is followed under following rules

  • No Refund if trekker agrees on date change of trek change but does not turns up
  • Refund may be adjusted to some other trek in future on some urgent and need basis.

Trek Change Policy

In case of an unforseen event UTT reserves the right to change the trek to other trek. Such decesions will be pre infromed to the trekkers and will olny take into into effect if trekkers want the same.

  • Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.
  • The trekker needs to pay the diference of the amount if the trek cost is more then the previeous trek cose.
  • In case of the new trek cost is less then the provious trek cost, the difference will be adjusted in ter of cashback/discount/vouchers.

Date Change Policy

  • Change of trek batch is dependent on the availability of seats in the batch.
  • In case of transferring a trek to a friend, he/she should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by UTT.
  • UTT holds the right to change/cancel the policies, without prior notice.
